Sharing the Language Experience
Express Language Solutions (ELS) and Holy Cross College joined forces with RLN NW and organized an event for 80 Year 9 pupils from a variety of schools in Greater Manchester to share their experience with languages.
The event kicked off the first phase of the Business Language Champion partnership between language company ELS and Holy Cross College. Following an overview about the variety of language careers in industry, ELS's director, Dina Railean, showcased her company and provided and insight into the management of a growing translation and interpreting business.
Following the event, Dina said 'I really enjoyed the whole afternoon being surrounded by such lovely students who are eager to learn. I cherished the opportunity to inspire the new generation to take up languages.'
Six Holy Cross student ambassadors also shared their experiences of learning a language and the opportunities these skills have already given them while abroad and for their career development at college and beyond.
Plans are already in motion for a business challenge in June for Holy Cross students provided by Express Language Solutions which will offer a further insight into languages in a growing industry.
